Uncertainty still reigns as to the composition of FC Barcelona on Wednesday against PSG. On the eve of this first round between the two rivals on the lawn of the Parc des Princes, for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Barça flew this Tuesday to Paris with a group of 25 players.
And as expected for several days, Frenkie de Jong and Pedri, on the sidelines for several weeks, are on the trip. However, their presence against the French champions is still not certain. In the press release published by the Blaugrana club, it is specified that Pedri and Frenkie de Jong are making the trip “without agreement from the medical unit”.
De Jong announced as starter
Despite their return to training last week, the two midfielders do not yet seem to be 100% physically recovered and the Spanish champions do not intend to take any risks with their two players. This particularly applies to the Spanish international, who is returning from a muscle injury and for whom the risk of relapse is therefore high.
The Catalan press nevertheless remains convinced that the former Ajax player should be present in the midfield from kick-off alongside Ilkay Gundogan and Andreas Christensen. At the forefront, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal should surround Robert Lewandowski while the young prodigy Pau Cubarsi is expected to start in central defense with Ronald Araujo.
