A third recruit for PSG?

Absent since the start of the season, Nuno Mendes could still miss at least two months of competition. Paris Saint-Germain could recruit for his position this winter.

The winter transfer window could be more hectic than expected for Paris Saint-Germain. The capital club could seek to recruit a third element, in addition to the two Brazilian nuggets Gabriel Moscardo (defensive midfielder, Corinthians) and Lucas Beraldo (central defender, Sao Paulo), who should arrive at the beginning of January.

It is an additional full-back that PSG could be looking for, and everything would depend on the state of health of Nuno Mendes. The Portuguese international has been away from the field since last April due to a hamstring injury, and he underwent surgery at the start of the school year. As for those around him, we want to be reassuring, but it is possible that Mendes will miss two more months of competition. “If, as will be assessed at the beginning of January, he should not return to the field before March, the club could consider recruiting a defender during the transfer window”explains Le Parisien this Wednesday evening.

A versatile full-back as reinforcement?

On the left, Luis Enrique relies a lot on Lucas Hernandez, who also helps out in the middle. Nordi Mukiele has been used in this position, and there is also Layvin Kurzawa, but the former Monegasque is only a last resort. This is why PSG could look for a player capable of playing on the left but also on the right, to give Achraf Hakimi a break on occasion. This will be a solution for the short term, because the capital club still counts on Nuno Mendes for the future.
