Manchester City announced this Thursday a very important signing for the future of the club.
Announced about leaving a few weeks ago, Kyle Walker has made up his mind. While his name came up insistently in Germany, where Thomas Tuchel had made it his priority to strengthen the right side of Bayern Munich’s defense, the England international finally extended his contract with Manchester City.
The British club announced this Thursday the contract extension of its defender. While his current lease expired in 2024, Walker signed a new contract which will link him to the Sky Blues until June 2026. A maneuver which is reminiscent of that which the City board carried out for Bernardo Silva, long courted by PSG and Barça before stacking up again.
Walker: “I feel supported at every level here”
“I am delighted to sign a new contract. My future is at Manchester City and it’s the best thing for me, enthused the England international, in comments transcribed by the club. I have enjoyed every moment of the last six years at this fantastic club. I have an incredible coach, great teammates and staff and our fans are the best. I feel supported at all levels. The treble season (C1-Premier League-FA Cup, editor’s note) is a season that I will never forget and we are ready to start again and try to win more trophies. I’m excited to continue at a club that competes for trophies every year and I can’t wait to see what the next few years bring.“
