Strasbourg seeded in the European Cup

In the event of qualification in the league conference in favor of its 7th place in Ligue 1, the Racing Club of Strasbourg will be part of the heads of the dams next August.

With his young cracks (including Djordje Petrovic and Andrey Santos loaned by the Brother Club, Chelsea) as well as his excellent English coach Liam Rosenior (40), the Racing Club of Strasbourg has made a very good season in Ligue 1, unfortunately concluded by two defeats against Angers (2-1) and Le Havre (2-3). The Alsatian training thus ends up in 7th place in the French championship ranking for no European qualification for the moment.

However, in the event of PSG victory in the final of the French Cup against the Reims stadium on Saturday evening, OL will no longer qualify for the next conference league but directly for the Europa League. It is therefore the Strasbourgers who will inherit the ticket giving access to the C4 dams at the end of August (Thursdays 21 and 28, between the J2 and D3 of Ligue 1).

Five years after the summer epic of the RCSA in qualifying for the Europa League, in 2019, with successes against the Maccabi Haïfa and the Lokomotiv Plovdiv then an elimination in play-offs against the Eintracht Frankfurt (1-0, 0-3), the boiling stadium of the Meinau (26,109 places) therefore dreams of reliving hot European evenings. Even a crazy winter adventure.

Strasbourg would avoid heavy

Lyon as Strasbourg will have the advantage of being part of the head of the drawing of the dams. There are indeed 19 matches during these dams. OL, 51st in the UEFA ranking of clubs, would be one of the best teams in the running. Strasbourg has no points at the club coefficient, but recovers the minimum total of France (14.561), which will allow him to be part of the 19 heads of series.

As the account x projects Football RankingsRC Strasbourg-without Andrey Santos (recalled by the Blues) but probably with its attacker Emanuel Emegha (14 goals)-would thus avoid Lazio, Nottingham Forest, Rayo Vallecano, the virtual representatives of Serie A, the Premier League and the Liga (which end this weekend), as well as Mainz Bundesliga.

Before the elimination of the RC Lens last summer against Panathinaikos (2-1, 0-2), the Stade Rennais in 2021-2022 (until the round of 16), the OGC Nice in 2022-2023 (up to the quarter), the LOSC in 2023-2024 (up to the quarter) competed in the conference group phase. It was OM that achieved the best French performance in this competition by being eliminated in the semi-finals by Feyenoord in 2022, after being donated from the Europa League.
