Iñigo Martinez is saving his adventure at FC Barcelona. Considered an undesirable at the beginning of the summer, the Basque is providing great services to Hansi Flick’s Barça at the start of the season. Impeccable in his role as a leader alongside the young prodigy Pau Cubarsi (17 years old), Martínez has already scored many points in the first four matches of the Blaugranas.

Promoted to the starting line-up by injuries to Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen, the 33-year-old defender has played every possible minute for Barca in La Liga so far, and his strong performances could secure him a longer-term future in Catalonia. According to World Sportsa clause in his contract promises him an extension if he were to play more than 60% of the matches, playing at least 45 minutes in each of his appearances, during this 2024/25 season.
