Davide Ancelotti is doing well as an assistant to his father, Carlo Ancelotti, at Real Madrid. This is why several clubs have set their sights on the Italian if he wanted to take on a new challenge of his own.

According to L’Equipe, Ancelotti is one of the candidates for the Stade Reims bench for next season, although the Italian is under contract with Real Madrid until June 2026. Moreover, the Champenois’ first option is not to not pay extra for his transfer, but they do not rule it out.

On the other hand, the Ligue 1 team received around sixty offers. After an initial selection, the total number of names was reduced to 20. The next step in the process will be to reduce the number of subjects to 6 or 7. These few people will be interviewed by Reims via videoconference, and then only three of them will be selected for a physical meeting.

Ancelotti is on the rise

According to RMC, the Reims hierarchy wants to finalize negotiations with the 34-year-old transalpine coach, who has never worked as head coach.

Discussions will increase after the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Dortmund, scheduled for Saturday at Wembley. Reims had targeted Lukas Elsner, the Le Havre coach, as a priority, but the transfer ran into difficulties, again according to the same source.
