Between Carlo Ancelotti and Zinédine, respect is mutual. The admiration between the two men is mutual.
Between 1999 and 2001, during his last two seasons at Juventus Turin, Zinédine Zidane was coached by Carlo Ancelotti. During the 2013-2014 financial year, the two men worked together again at Real Madrid, a club in which the Frenchman was the Italian’s assistant.
In both cases, the “Mister” has excellent memories of the 1998 Ballon d’Or. “He was the best player I saw in training. He was doing incredible things. And then he brought me a lot here as assistant, because he knew the club very well. He helped me with the French and also to adapt to Spanish culture. He was a great help to me,” declared Carlo Ancelotti this Saturday at a press conference, on the sidelines of the Spanish Super Cup final against FC Barcelona.
