Good news for French amateur clubs. Faced with soaring fuel prices, the French Football Federation (FFF) has decided to release an envelope of 2.2 million euros to support the country’s approximately 12,000 amateur clubs. A measure announced Thursday by its president Philippe Diallo, following an executive committee. “ Pump prices sometimes exceed 2.50 euros and can pose problems for our clubs in terms of travel, because we organize nearly a million matches per year. », he explained, referring in particular to the journeys made by parents and the team minibuses. This aid will be paid directly into the clubs’ accounts, with amounts adapted to their size. According to general director Jean-François Vilotte, structures with fewer than 100 licensees will receive 100 euros, while the largest will be able to receive up to 500 euros.

This announcement comes as the FFF finds a more favorable financial situation. Philippe Diallo also revealed the first results for the 2025-2026 financial year, which for the first time show revenues exceeding 300 million euros, accompanied by a net profit slightly exceeding 4 million euros. A notable improvement after the losses of more than 8 million recorded the previous season, in particular due to the support given to professional football, weakened by the television rights crisis. This increase, estimated at more than 12 million euros in additional revenue, is mainly explained by the renewal of the contract with the equipment manufacturer and the signing of six new commercial partnerships. Results which will be officially presented at the next federal assembly in December.
