Since the end of his professional football career, “El Pocho” has encountered serious mental complications.
After being hospitalized last December in Uruguay, following a domestic accident, Ezequiel Lavezzi was again admitted to a clinic on Saturday in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Initially, the rumor of an overdose arose, before being denied by the son of the former Paris Saint-Germain player.
Argentine journalist Estefania Berardi provides some new information regarding this dark affair. “Suddenly Pocho became very nervous. He started hearing voices and he thought they were looking for him or chasing him. He was really scared. He got so scared and it got so bad that he grabbed a pair of scissors and started hurting himself. His brother tried to calm him down and control the situation. Pocho is tall, that’s when things got worse and he ended up injuring his collarbone.”she revealed on the show of Carmen Barbieri, an Argentinian actress.
Ezequiel Lavezzi allegedly injured himself with a pair of scissors during the incident which occurred at his home.

As a reminder, Ezequiel Lavezzi retired in 2019 after spending three seasons at Hebei FC, in the Chinese Super League. The career of the man who nicknamed himself “Pocho” was marked by his stints at Napoli (2007-2012, 48 goals) and PSG (2012-2016, 35 goals).
