English defender Harry Maguire scored an own goal for Scotland on Tuesday in a friendly match.
Relegated to the Manchester United sidelines since last season and finally remaining with the Red Devils during the summer transfer window, Harry Maguire found a smile again in the English selection. Despite his reduced playing time in the Premier League, he was started by Gareth Southgate during the match against Ukraine in the Euro qualifiers last Saturday (1-1).
On Tuesday evening, Maguire came on at half-time in the symbolic friendly match between the Three Lions and Scotland, at Hampden Park (Glasgow), and scored an own goal 20 minutes later from an Andy cross Robertson (67th). Aarson Ramsdale, the starting goalkeeper for this match, was unable to do anything.
The English nevertheless won 3-1. Phil Foden (32nd) and the inevitable Jude Bellingham (35th) made the difference in the first period. The Real Madrid midfielder then played a decisive role for his captain Harry Kane (81st).
