After several weeks of negotiation, AS Monaco finally holds its new centerpiece. The Principality club, ambitious with the approach of its season in the Champions League, has just finalized a major arrival for a key sector. The operation, prepared in discretion, was formalized this Friday, a few hours before the friendly match against Inter Milan.

Hradecky, the new boss of the cages

They are Lukas Hradecky, 35 -year -old Finnish goalkeeper from Bayer Leverkusen. Passed by Eintracht Frankfurt before winning in the Bundesliga, he joined two seasons, plus one optional. The transfer, estimated at 2.5 million euros (excluding bonuses), marks a change in the Monegasque summer strategy: after Eric Dier, Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati, all recruited free, it is the first paid arrival of the 2025 transfer window.

The choice of Hradecky meets an obvious need. In recent seasons, ASM has multiplied the changes in its cages: Benjamin Lecomte, Vito Mannone, Radoslaw Majecki, Alexander Nübel or Philipp Köhn have succeeded each other without a stable hierarchy settled. With the former Bayer captain, Monaco finally hopes to lock this position for several years.

A cosmopolitan strategy

Monegasque summer has been marked by arrivals as diverse as promising. From the Rugueux Dier to the offensive talent of Ansu Fati, including the ambitious return of Pogba, the ASM has bet on a varied recruitment. The arrival of Hradecky completes this puzzle with an experienced profile, accustomed to major European meetings.

It remains to be seen if this policy, a mixture of international experience and ambitious Paris, will bear fruit. The season will start on August 16 against Le Havre, with the obligation for Monaco to be ready to start, before diving into the Champions League. Hradecky will have a clear mission: to become the last bulwark that ASM has been waiting for too long.
