OM: the biggest flops since the start of the season

We cannot say that they put the OM supporters in a state of trance. Among the most disappointing Marseille players since the start of the season, Elye Wahi has his place on the podium. The 21-year-old center forward has not yet reached maturity. Expected to become the scorer for the team coached by Roberto de Zerbi, he scored two goals in nine Ligue 1 matches.

Too light a record for the former Lensois and Montpellier striker, marked in particular by a few gross misses in front of the opposing goalkeepers. How not to forget this festival of clumsiness against the Stade de Reims during the
second day of Ligue 1 (2-2) ? Beyond the harvest, Elye Wahi, for example, has difficulty keeping the ball with his back to goal or under pressure in traffic. And his teammates do not find him in favorable situations.

A defense weakened by instability

In terms of balls, that of Lilian Brassier giving Auxerrois the opener on November 8 at the Vélodrome stadium is also remembered. The former Stade Brestois and the OM defense were undermined by the promoted Burgundians, winners 3-1. The 24-year-old central defender is also a negative point in the Olympian transfer window.

In his defense, coach De Zerbi continues to test different formulas behind, certainly not helped either by injuries and suspensions. Lilian Brassier found himself like this on the left side, against PSG in particular, on October 27 (0-3), without further success. Stability seems more effective for settling in and giving your best.

Kondogbia, credit seriously damaged

Geoffrey Kondogbia, his natural position in midfield, or in central defense precisely as an interim, was not satisfactory either. The former Villarreal (Liga) accumulates a lot of waste after 11 days of Ligue 1. The left-hander gives the impression of a borrowed player when he doesn’t miss easy passes or slow down the game.

Roberto de Zerbi perhaps finally realized certain limits of Kondogbia by leaving him on the bench, just like Ely Wahi, against AJA on the last day before the break.

Greenwood, Henrique and Koné expected around the corner

In this “must really do better” department, we could include the English striker Mason Greenwood, with an intermittent tendency, his teammate on the offensive front Luis Henrique, finally back in line, or Ismael Koné, the Canadian midfielder, far away at the international level.
