Sparkling at the Euro this summer, with the coronation of La Roja at stake, the best young person on the planet, Lamine Yamal, winner of the Kopa trophy, has already made a name for himself among the greatest. At only 17 years old, the person concerned can pride himself on being the most popular footballer on the leading search engine, Google.
In 2024, on a global scale, Lamine Yamal is in the Top 5 most sought-after athletes, third behind Algerian boxer Imane Khelif and former heavyweight boss Mike Tyson. This in front of American gymnast Simone Biles and another boxer – and incidentally influencer – Jake Paul.
In France too, Yamal is a hit
In France, Lamine Yamal also ranks in the Top 5 requests – and still first footballer – simply ahead of the stars of the Paris Olympic Games who were Léon Marchand, Teddy Riner and, again, Imane Khelif.
As for collectives, Google’s football prize goes to Inter Miami, the club of a certain Lionel Messi. The Florida franchise ranks third in the number of requests behind two MLB teams, the North American baseball league. Special mention to Bayer Leverkusen, astonishing German champion last season and fourth in this hierarchy.
