Manchester United have reportedly set a date for Rasmus Hojlund’s debut following his £72m move from Atalanta

The Danish striker is set to make his much-anticipated debut for the Red Devils, following his high-profile move from Atalanta. According to DailyMail, the striker could be in action this weekend against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils ready to return to winning ways following their 2-0 loss to Tottenham last weekend.

Hojlund suffered a back injury during pre-season with Atalanta which forced him to sit out. An MRI performed by United’s doctor revealed a hot spot in his back, which could lead to further stress fractures in the future.

United’s attack looked toothless against Tottenham, with Marcus Rashford yet to find his stride in his central striker role, while Bruno Fernandes’ conversion rate also raised concerns. There is therefore an urgent need to include Hojlund in the squad so that he can at least play a role against Forest from the sidelines if Erik ten Hag’s side find themselves looking for a goal.
