After six seasons at Paris Saint-Germain for 118 and 77 offerings in 173 matches, Neymar seems at a crossroads. If his contract still runs until June 2025, the native of Mogi das Cruzes could be affected by a departure this summer. While the arrival of Ousmane Dembélé at Paris Saint-Germain is imminent, FC Barcelona intends to draw from the Ile-de-France region and repatriate the Brazilian. If last night Neymar’s father dismantled the rumors of departure, the Catalan press takes another position.

And this one is surprising to say the least, even if it remains difficult to apply. According to daily information Sport, FC Barcelona could use a bypassed method to make this transfer. Although financially complicated, Neymar’s arrival could be achieved using an intermediate club. The Iberian media explains that FC Barcelona’s plan is to obtain the help of a Saudi club to recruit the player and thus loan him to FC Barcelona.

One year loan

To do so, the president of FC Barcelona Joan Laporta would have used his close relationship with the influential Israeli agent Pini Zahavi. The latter would therefore be discussing the feasibility of the transaction with Saudi Arabia. A desire to repatriate the Brazilian which continues to be confirmed since Sport indicates that Laporta has planned to meet with Xavi to convince him to accept Neymar’s return despite his reluctance. Last May, the two men had also met the president of the Saudi football federation to get closer and open up possibilities for collaboration for the future. This could therefore resonate with this Neymar file.

As for the modality of the transaction, the strategy devised by FC Barcelona would be for Saudi Arabia to recruit the player for three seasons and loan him during the first season to FC Barcelona. Not being able to necessarily ensure all of his salary, FC Barcelona could also compensate a part via commercial agreements such as friendly matches. Neymar for his part would be shared. If the prospect of replaying at FC Barcelona seduces him, committing to Saudi Arabia is a different thing. Be that as it may, this daring and flawed strategy seems very difficult to achieve…
