Tottenham finally have their first victory of the season. In a duel between two teams from the bottom of the table, Spurs took the lead against Coventry thanks to Maddison, who quickly opened the scoring at Tottenham Stadium (1-0, 14th). Despite this early advantage, Spurs failed to widen the gap before the break. Returning from the locker room, Rudoni put Coventry back on level terms (1-1, 49th).
But De Zerbi’s men reacted well since Marmoush gave Tottenham the advantage back shortly after (2-1, 58th). Tottenham were in difficulty, but held on well and Davies scored the break goal in stoppage time (90th + 3) to get their first victory and get out of the red zone, before a perilous trip to Chelsea. For their part, the Bantams remain in 16th place before facing Fulham.
