For the fifth consecutive edition, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris will host the Ballon d’Or France Football ceremony. The event will take place on October 28 in the capital. And it should bring together some of the biggest stars of the current era.
One year after the 8th coronation of
Lionel Messianother winner is expected. And the games are particularly open this year. While waiting to know the name of the lucky winner, the editorial staff of France Football has made an initial selection, as usual. This Wednesday, September 4, La Chaîne L’Équipe reveals the names of the 30 players selected for the most beautiful individual distinction.
A favorite stands out but…
It is in the program L’Équipe de Greg that this list of 30 candidates will be revealed. And the favorites are already well identified. If we should not make plans on the comet yet, everything suggests that the winner of this 2024 edition will wear the colors of Real Madrid.
Champions League winners, the Madrid club has 3 of the most influential stars in the world in its ranks: Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham and newcomer Kylian Mbappé. The Frenchman is starting from much further back because of the impression he left in his last months at PSG and during Euro 2024 with the Blues. The Englishman, for his part, is a credible candidate with his journey to the Euro final with England, and his first great season in Madrid. But the favorite remains the Brazilian, who was instrumental in Real’s European triumph. These 3 Madrilenians will not be the only seeded players in this year where no player has really stood out. Their former teammate Toni Kroos or Manchester City’s Spaniard Rodri will also have a card to play.
