As part of the first day of La Liga, Sevilla FC travelled to Las Palmas on Friday evening. In Gran Canaria, Francisco Garcia Pimienta’s men started the match ideally by opening the scoring with an own goal from the unfortunate Alex Suarez (0-1, 25th). A gift quickly returned by the visitors since Tanguy Nianzou Kouassi also beat his own goalkeeper just before the break (1-1, 42nd).
After the break, Sevilla finally regained the lead through Juanlu Sanchez (1-2, 61st) but Sandro Ramirez, who had come on a few minutes earlier, equalised once again and allowed the home team to snatch a point from the draw (2-2, 71st). With this result, Las Palmas and Sevilla are now two points behind Celta, the sole leader of the Spanish championship after their victory against Alavés.
