Antoine Griezmann appears to be heading to the United States, with the French striker in talks with MLS side Los Angeles FC.

The Californian club have made progress in their recent negotiations with the 33-year-old, according to The Team. Griezmann is available for a cool €10m this summer due to a clause in his contract with Atletico Madrid, where he has one year left to run, while reports indicate the club will not offer him an extension this summer.

Griezmann, the new destination validated

LAFC have made an offer to Griezmann’s entourage that would make him the second-highest-paid player in MLS, behind Inter Miami hero Lionel Messi, according to the report. The forward has openly expressed his desire to play in MLS before he retires, making a summer move very possible.

Griezmann would be the third French international to join LAFC, following the signing of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris last January and that of striker Olivier Giroud from AC Milan during the current transfer window.

Griezmann will consider the MLS offer and make a decision on his next move. He could opt for a transfer this summer or spend another year with Diego Simeone’s team in Spain before embarking on an American adventure.
