Jules Koundé already wants to get back to work. Unlucky finalist of the last Euro with the French team, the defender was back in Barcelona a few hours after the defeat of the Blues. According to Sportthe former Bordeaux player went to the training center to talk with Hansi Flick, the new Barça coach. The French international then reportedly spoke of his impatience to return to the pitch, under the orders of the German, even if it meant cutting back on his vacation.

Hansi Flick was keen to tell Koundé that it was important to take a break from football after a competition as gruelling as the Euro, but the 25-year-old defender wouldn’t have it. While the German coach recommended a three-week rest, the French full-back should instead be back on August 1st, in order to take part in Barça’s American tour. His teammate in the national team, Kylian Mbappé, will only return after Real Madrid’s training camp across the Atlantic.
