After a winter full of twists and turns, Saïd Benrahma should take charge of Olympique Lyonnais. An agreement was reached with West Ham, despite a final offensive from Fulham.

The transfer window ends well for Olympique Lyonnais. In addition to the arrival of Orel Mangala (Nottingham Forest), the Rhone club should record the reinforcement of Saïd Benrahma, at the end of a series rich in twists and turns.

Lacking playing time at West Ham, the Algerian international was mentioned at the start of January as a possible starter, and his name was notably circulated among Marseille. In the weeks that followed, Benrahma took advantage of certain absences (Kudus, Paqueta, etc.) to be used more regularly, and it was once a question that he would stay in London, after all.

But OL, definitely very greedy, wanted to add Benrahma to their winter recruitment. And the Rhone club achieved its goals despite the offensive of another competitor, Fulham, in the final hours of this transfer window.

A paying loan with purchase option

According to Fabrizio Romano, everything is complete. An agreement was reached between the two clubs for a paying loan of 5 million euros, with a purchase option of 12 million euros which should be exercised in June. The player is already in Lyon, where medical examinations were scheduled for this Thursday.

Benrahma should be OL’s sixth recruit after Lucas Perri, Adryelson, Malick Fofana, Gift Orban, Nemanja Matic and, if all goes well, Orel Mangala.
