Almost falling into anonymity, Florian Thauvin wishes to find a little light. To achieve this, he recommends a return to Ligue 1.

Since the end of his adventure in Mexico with the Tigres UANL, Florian Thauvin has played in Serie A, under the colors of Udinese Calcio. The former Olympique de Marseille player, who will be 31 this year, gave an interview to The Team in which he regrets that “no one sees (him) play anymore”.

To escape this relative anonymity, the attacking midfielder plans to return to play in France. “I miss the championship, I miss life in France too. L1 is a championship that I know particularly well, in which I have performed well… At some point, if I have this possibility, a good project presents itself, of course I would like to return to L1. But, for the moment, I am under contract with Udinese (until June 2025), they trusted me after my Mexican adventure so I am happy to be here and there is a maintenance mission to accomplish »confided the native of OrlĂ©ans to the sports daily.

However, the chances of seeing Thauvin leave Udinese during this winter transfer window are slim. “A departure is more likely next summer. In any case, a return to France will be the priority when I leave. But I don’t want to go back, it will take an identity and a game that suits me”warns the French international, author of four goals in the Italian championship this season.
