Loaned last summer to Leipzig without a purchase option, Xavi Simons would not like to return to PSG next season.

After a successful stint with PSV Eindhoven during the 2022-2023 financial year, Xavi Simons was again loaned by Paris Saint-Germain last summer, but this time at RB Leipzig, where he made another big season. Author of 6 goals and 9 assists in 26 appearances (all competitions), the 20-year-old attacking midfielder is enjoying fourth place in the Bundesliga. So much so that he would like to stay there…

According to information from Sky Sports Germany, Xavi Simons would like to see his loan renewed for another season. An idea which would not displease the leaders of RB Leipzig, who are currently negotiating with their PSG counterparts an extension of this loan until June 2025 (without purchase option).

Simons’ future linked to that of Mbappé?

If the French champions seem open to a new loan from their Dutch international, they do not want to hear about a dry transfer. It must be said that the profile of the former Barcelona player appeals to Luis Enrique. Not to mention that Simons is still linked to the capital club until June 2027. However, a free departure from Kylian Mbappé this summer could change the situation. Indeed, the young Dutchman could be the ideal replacement for the Frenchman.
