Unwanted at Paris Saint-Germain for several months, Hugo Ekitike is finally heading towards the exit. The former Rémois would be close to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Finally something new for the Hugo Ekitike file? According to transfer window specialist Ekrem Konur, Eintracht Frankfurt are moving forward in the race to sign the Paris Saint-Germain striker.

Ekitike has been on the shelf in Paris for several months. After a disappointing first season with the capital club, the former Stade de Reims player was pushed out last summer. PSG tried to find him a base in England, in vain, and Ekitike had almost joined Eintracht Frankfurt already. His salary had posed a problem for the German club, and the failure of his loan to Frankfurt had almost derailed the transfer of Randal Kolo Muani to PSG, since the two files were linked.

According to Sky Germany, the six million euros annually received by Ekitike continued to be a hindrance this winter for several Bundesliga teams, and in particular Wolfsburg. But obviously, a solution could be found with Frankfurt. This would be good news for the player, who only spent 9 minutes on the Ligue 1 pitch this season (during the first day against Lorient), before not being called up once in the squad from month of September.
