Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Moscardo may ultimately not join PSG.

Gabriel Moscardo in Paris, it’s not done yet. It’s not even close to being finished. Victim of an injury shortly after the announcement of his arrival with the French champions, the Brazilian has still not been able to sign the contract. And now his club Corinthians is asking to have him back.

Return to sender for Moscardo?

Indeed, the president of the Brazilian club, a certain Augusto Melo, spoke this weekend to say that he would be happy to welcome Moscardo back into his squad. He monitors the situation from afar and is surprised that PSG has not kept its word.

“I asked for him to come back, he told O Globo. If there’s a risk there, there’s one here. If there’s a risk we won’t get paid, let’s let it recover here and we’ll be in a better position to sell it for even more. I asked him to come back. He is with them, the operation will take place, but afterwards… So give him back to me.”

Corinthians were to recover €20M from the sale of their player. Their boss doesn’t seem bothered by not receiving this amount. For the simple reason that he is confident that he will be able to recover more once the player recovers. “I’m sure it will come back in shape and it will be sold for a lot more than it is today. In two months he will be back”he proclaimed.

It’s up to PSG to decide

It will now be interesting to examine the reaction of Parisian management to this exit. Until then, the Ile-de-France club, through unofficial communication, had suggested that Moscardo’s unavailability did not call into question his commitment at all. But, given that the contract is not signed and that the Corinthians say they are ready to cancel everything, a return to sender is perfectly plausible.

Moscardo is one of two Brazilians that the French champions have targeted for this winter transfer window. The other is Lucas Beraldo. The latter has already joined the club and was even able to play three matches with Luis Enrique’s team.
