Le Mans believed it could pull off a nice stunt at the Parc des Princes. Opposed to Paris Saint-Germain this Saturday evening, Patrick Videira’s men managed to come back to the score, causing immense joy on the Le Mans bench. But this euphoria was short-lived. Because in the wake of this equalization, Luis Enrique decided to bring in four of his executives simultaneously to regain control of the meeting. A choice which completely changed the appearance of the match, ultimately won by the Parisians (3-1).
Asked about this sequence after the meeting, Patrick Videira preferred to laugh about it, notably recounting a tasty exchange with Vitinha. “I can tell you what I said to Vitinha. I went to him and said: “Vitinha, go slowly please!” We were able to have a little smile together, but that’s exactly it. You know it’s going to be heavy stuff. You tell yourself that it’s very good, that we have equalized, but there is still a lot of time left, we will have to maintain this rigor”said the Manceau coach with humor.
