The new weekly letter from the Football Observatory (CIES) is devoted to the most profitable training centers on the football planet over the last ten years. A study which once again puts the spotlight on two French clubs renowned for their training and the sale of their gems: Olympique Lyonnais and AS Monaco. Since 2014, the sale of young Lyon talents has allowed Les Gones to pocket €370 million.
A nice score which allows the Rhone residents to be on the third step of the podium, behind Ajax Amsterdam (€376 million) and Benfica. The Lisbon club sold for €516 million. Monaco is in sixth place (€325 million), behind Chelsea (€347 million) and Real Madrid (€364 million). Note that PSG ranks 18th, with €212 million. Not really known for knowing how to sell its nuggets at a high price, the capital club has recovered well since 2019 with €175 million in sales recorded during the 2019-2023 period (compared to €37 million between 2014 and 2019).
