Benjamin Mendy suffered a muscle injury this Wednesday during training with his club Lorient.

Bad news for Lorient. Penultimate in Ligue 1 after 17 days, the Merlus will have to cope without Benjamin Mendy during their next meetings.

According to information from Telegram, the 2018 world champion with the Blues was injured in training this Wednesday. Hit in the hamstrings, the former citizen remained on the ground for many minutes. The 29-year-old left back could therefore miss several weeks of competition.

As a reminder, Lorient will travel to Lille on Sunday, on the occasion of the 18th day of the French championship.
