Lionel Messi’s second son, Mateo, scored a magnificent goal with the Inter Miami youth team.
One Messi can hide another. When his father Lionel is not playing, little Mateo Messi takes over at short notice. Very high, even, like the magnificent goal scored by the son of the eight-time Golden Ball winner this week with Inter Miami. The second of the Argentine legend’s three sons plays with Inter Miami, like his father, but in the youth team, since he celebrated his 8th birthday on September 12. Mateo Messi scored a goal which is more reminiscent of his father’s great rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, more than his father himself, more accustomed to solitary raids or repeated passes at supersonic speed.

Lionel Messi’s season with Inter Miami will not resume until next February in Major League Soccer (MLS), with an opening day on the 22nd against Real Salt Lake. Before that, Inter will play 6 preparation matches, the first being against the El Salvador national team on January 20. Note a friendly match on February 15, against Newell Old Boys, one of the training clubs of “La Pulga”. He spent 7 years there between 1994 and 2000, before flying to Barcelona at the age of 13, with the success that we know.
As for his sons, we do not yet know if Thiago, the eldest of 11 years, or Ciro, the youngest born in 2018, will try to take the same path as their legendary father.
