The Italian anti-doping prosecutor’s office has requested a four-year suspension for Paul Pogba, who tested positive for testosterone last August.
Paul Pogba risks being very expensive… Tested positive for testosterone at the start of the season, following Juventus Turin’s trip to Udinese in Serie A, the 2018 world champion with the Blues was suspended on September 11 on a provisional basis.
And while the counter-expertise had confirmed the presence of the incriminated substance, the Italian anti-doping prosecution decided to strike hard. The latter is demanding a four-year suspension against the former Manchester United midfielder, the maximum penalty required for this type of offense, revealed this Thursday the Gazzetta dello Sport.
Towards the end of your career?
While a possible agreement between Paul Pogba and the Italian authorities had been mentioned, which would have made it possible to reduce the sentence to two years of suspension, in the end nothing happened. “La Pioche” will be judged before the National Anti-Doping Tribunal and therefore risks remaining on the sidelines for four years.
In four years, Pogba will be 34 years old… It is therefore not excluded that if the sanction were to be confirmed that the French international would decide to end his career. In the meantime, a long legal battle awaits the player.
