With seven goals in the first half against Gibraltar, the French team broke several records.

Nobody really expected much opposition from Gibraltar to theFrench team this Saturday in Nice, but no one expected such an offensive festival from the Blues in the first period.

Extraordinary Seven

With achievements from Thuram, Zaire-Emery, Mbappé, Clauss, Coman, Fofana and an own goal from Santos, Didier Deschamps’ men returned to the locker room leading 7-0. This is a first in the history of the Tricolores since they had never scored more than five goals in the first period of a match until then.

Thanks to this performance, Mbappé and his gang became the first team to lead by seven goals at half-time in a Euro qualifying match. Scorer from the penalty spot, Kylian Mbappé took the opportunity to become the top scorer in the history of the Blues in official competition with 35 goals.
