George Weah, Ballon d’Or 1995, is no longer the president of Liberia.

The results announced this evening (Friday), although not final, indicate that Joseph Boakai has a lead that we cannot catch up”declared to public radio the 1995 Ballon d’Or, quoted by France 24.

The results published by the electoral commission, after 99% of the polls indicated 50.89% to George Weah’s opponent (49.11%).

Joseph Boakai, 78, was vice-president of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the first woman elected head of state in Africa, between 2006 and 2018.
