Rennes drew with Olympiakos this Wednesday (0-0), as part of the 4th day of the Europa League.

Stade Rennais has still not lost in the Europa League. After two draws and a victory, Franck Haise’s men managed to resist against Olympiakos (0-0, 4th day). A third draw since the start of this European campaign, but certainly not the least interesting for the Rouge et Noir who have not been far from success.

Although they were dominated in ball possession during the first period (only 36%), Rennais nevertheless believed they had opened the scoring. Unfortunately for them, Bruno Onyemaechi’s goal scored just before the break (44th) was refused for an indisputable offside and quickly indicated by the assistant referee.

The balance was rebalanced during the second act. Almost the same percentage of possession, same number of shots. But no more goals to report. The doormen were nevertheless called upon to contribute. And the most dangerous chances were even Breton, in particular this low full-axis strike from Valentin Rongier diverted at the last minute by the opposing goalkeeper (90th+1).

Rennes still undefeated

Final score zero and blank (0-0) and one point for each team. Enough to place Olympiakos very provisionally in the lead, having so far remained on three victories in as many Europa League matches this season.

As for Stade Rennais, it ranks twelfth with six points on the clock. Next European match scheduled for him on November 26. It will be in the Netherlands against Nijmegen.
