Fourth victory in a row in Ligue 1 for Nice, which won at home on Sunday evening against Stade Rennais (2-0, 11th day). Both teams finished the match with ten men.
The incredible OGC Nice series continues. Undefeated in Ligue 1 since the start of the season, the Aiglons scored a fourth success in a row on Sunday evening by overcoming Stade Rennais without much difficulty (2-0, 11th day of Ligue 1). To win, the Niçois were able to count on Jérémie Boga’s opener and Steve Mandanda’s own goal at the end of the match. Nice regains its leadership position temporarily left to PSG. Rennes remains stuck in eleventh place.
The curves of the two formations were opposite before the start of the meeting and their trajectories therefore did not change. On the one hand, OGC Nice confirmed once again that it was damn realistic, but also that its defensive base was damn solid. No goals conceded since the victory obtained on September 15 in Paris (2-3) for Dante and his defense teammates. On the other hand, Rennes are in the midst of a crisis with a series of four unsuccessful matches in Ligue 1, including three defeats.
Unhappy Mandanda
The opening score was validated by Jérémie Boga who put the Niçois into orbit a few seconds before the break (1-0, 45th). A blow to the head of their opponents who failed to catch up. And yet, the scenario seemed to benefit them for a time since Youssouf Ndayishimiye received a red (74th), leaving the locals with ten men. Not enough for the Bretons who in turn suffered expulsion. Warmed Omari mowed down an opponent (85th), conceding a free kick with serious consequences.
Because not only did Sofiane Diop take care of it and find the bar, but the ball also bounced off the back of an unfortunate Steve Mandanda who scored against his side (2-0, 87th). Enough to confirm the defeat of the visitors who can no longer escape the negative spiral in which they find themselves. For Nice, on the other hand, the good life continues.
