Europa League Conference, Final

Eden Arena (Prague)

Fiorentina-West Ham 1-2

Goals: Bonaventura (67th) for Fiorentina; Benrahma (62nd on pen.), Bowen (90th) for West Ham

Thanks to a goal from Bowen in the 90th minute, West Ham won the Europa League conference 2-1 against Fiorentina. The Hammers will play in the Europa League next season.

This second Europa League Conference final between Fiorentina and West Ham promised to be uncertain and close. The first period quickly confirmed this with closed debates and two teams greatly fearing each other. Fiorentina hit more on goal and above all had the best situation in the first 45 minutes. Kouamé placed a fine header, repelled with difficulty by Areola, Jovic resumed in the empty goal but he was signaled offside (45th).

After the break, West Ham looked more dashing. The English benefited from a boost with an unintentional handball from Biraghi signaled by VAR. Benrahma deceived the Italian goalkeeper in force to open the scoring. La Viola reacted quickly and equalized in stride. Amrabat found Gonzalez in the area, the latter headed back to Bonaventura whose rapid sequence surprised Areola. Just after, Mandragora came to find the post of the French goalkeeper (72nd). An opportunity that would have allowed the Viola to take the lead. She regretted it late in the game when Paqueta launched Bowen into a misaligned defense. The English deceived the Italian doorman to offer success to the Hammers. A first European trophy in 58 years for the Londoners which qualifies them for the Europa League. A godsend after a failed championship this season.
