Neymar posted an emotional message on his social media as he prepares to undergo surgery after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus.
The striker had to be stretchered off in stoppage time in the first half of Brazil’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Uruguay after suffering a serious knee injury. He was seen on crutches and a heavy leg brace after the match and, after medical tests, it was confirmed that the Al-Hilal player needed to undergo surgery.
Neymar is distraught after suffering a new injury, which he called “the worst” on Instagram, but he has vowed to come back stronger.
“It’s a very sad moment, the worst. I know I am strong, but this time I will need my family and friends even more. It’s not easy to go through an injury and an operation, imagine it all again after 4 months of recovery. I have faith, even too much…But the strength I put in the hands of God so that he may renew mine. Thank you for the messages of support and love.🙏❤️ »he wrote.
