The French team regains its rights. After their disillusionment in Germany (1-2), Didier Deschamps’ gang will meet again in Clairefontaine in the coming days. On the program: the return match against the Netherlands, as part of the Euro 2024 qualifiers (Friday October 13) and a friendly against Scotland in Lille (Tuesday October 17).

Didier Deschamps’ list was particularly anticipated, especially since this time, the French coach benefited from a better context, with few injuries and a season already well underway which logically allows him to see more clearly the state of form of each potentially selectable player.

Clauss, the novelty

Two matches for which the national coach made the choice, unsurprisingly, to call a classic group. In defense, Ibrahima Konaté (withdrawn and replaced by Jean-Clair Todibo during the last rally, finds his place. But the big news is the recall of Jonathan Clauss (6 selections). Called up until September 2022, the full-back of the Olympique de Marseille had been excluded from the Blues just before the World Cup in Qatar.

Note the absence of Axel Disasi, although he has been regularly called up by Didier Deschamps in recent times. In the midfield and in the offensive sector, it’s rather classic and Didier Deschamps decided to call on his usual soldiers.
