The PSG coach fears a reaction from the Marseille team on Sunday during the Classic between the two teams.

For once, Paris approaches the Classico behind its hated rival in the ranking. On Sunday, the capital team will therefore be under pressure when challenging OM. This match is being played in a particular context, given the events that have occurred in recent days on the Commanderie side, and for Luis Enrique it is one more reason to take the Marseille team very seriously.

Luis Enrique wants “the best version of PSG” against OM

“It’s a bit of a special circumstance. But it happens often. The adversaries facing us have different attitudes, warned the Spanish technician. But it’s true that we analyzed OM with Marcelino, but we also did it with Abardonado. We expect him to repeat things from the last match, but also to change their strategy.”

The former La Roja coach observed the Olympians’ latest outings in great detail. And he found them efficient and solid. “When they played against Ajax, they had a good match. In Ligue 1, they still haven’t lost. I hope that we will see a better version of PSG and that we can be superior to our opponent, but this one is of a very high level.”

He already knows the importance of Classico

While praising Marseille, the Parisian coach admitted that he had no other result to aim for apart from victory. He knows what this match represents for the supporters and he does not hide his “emotional importance”. “When you arrive at a club, you quickly realize the matches which particularly motivate the supporters, the players and the club. We experience it and prepare for it in the same way, but we pay attention to the emotional component, not only individually but collectively as well,” he indicated.

Finally, Luis Enrique emphasized the connection that there can be with the public. With his players, he strives to do everything to restore all its pride to the Park: “The support and communion that there is between the players and the supporters is really essential. It motivates us to play at the Parc des Princes. Clearly, the situation is ideal. But we always have to offer them more, even more, with a desire to play good football, whether we can get the result or not.”
