On the eve of the Clasico against Real Madrid, Sunday evening (9 p.m.), Hansi Flick spoke about the threat represented by Kylian Mbappé and the solutions available to FC Barcelona to contain him. After the defeat conceded in the Champions League against PSG (4-2), the German coach is waiting for a reaction from his players against the French striker and the Merengues’ offensive armada.
“The important thing is to position yourself well with and without the ball. And maintaining good spacing between players, pressing the ball carrier… If we do everything correctly, it will be easy to defend against Real Madrid’s attacks. (Pau) Cubarsi and Gerard (Martín) play very well. What they do is incredible. (…) I expect a very confident Real Madrid team. It’s a big club. It’s a team with excellent players and an excellent coach. That’s how I see it. They have fantastic players, especially in the last 30 meters. We must be ready”he blurted.
