After Olympique de Marseille’s draw against Ajax Amsterdam (3-3), Pau Lopez sent a touching message to management, in these times of crisis.

OM is experiencing an unprecedented crisis. Last Monday, a meeting between supporters groups and management turned into a fiasco, leading to Marcelino’s resignation. As for Pablo Longoria and Javier Ribalta, they decided to step back and withdraw from their functions, claiming to have been threatened by the supporters.

It is therefore an OM without a coach and without its president who traveled to Amsterdam to challenge Ajax in the Europa League. Managed to secure a valuable draw (3-3) under the leadership of Pancho Abardonado, Pau Lopez’s teammates provided the essentials. Decisive against the Dutch, the goalkeeper stopped in the mixed zone after the match and wanted to send a message of support to his leaders.

Lopez calls for unity

“We need the supporters too. We, the supporters and all the leaders, must be together, this is the path to continue. Everyone must do something to create an even stronger, even better club. Everyone wants OM to do well. All those who love OM must be together and look for solutions,” did he declare.

Pau Lopez especially had a thought for his leaders: “I wanted to say a word to the four leaders who are not there, in particular to Pablo. We played this match for them too. We are waiting for them, we are here to support them. We will respect everything they decide for the club. If they decide to stay, I think we will have an extraordinary season. If they decide to leave, I will thank them for everything they have done for the club (…) I think we cannot blame them for anything. »
