The resumption of the Champions League was a hit on Canal+ with the PSG-Dortmund poster.
The Champions League is definitely a hit on Canal+. If the figures are still disappointing for Ligue 1 on weekends and the Canal Football Club, Vincent Bolloré’s channel achieves very good audiences with the C1 and in particular the PSG matches.
Canal+ announces that it has gathered 2.18 million viewers on its two channels, Canal+ and Canal+ Foot, for the meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday evening at the Parc des Princes. This is the best audience for a Champions League group match in two years, and PSG-Manchester City which brought together… 2.19 million viewers. It was the first major C1 match for the Messi-Neymar-Mbappé trio under the Parisian colors.
Last year, a PSG-Juventus, for example, had just exceeded the 2 million euros mark. These figures show that PSG has not lost its power of attraction, despite the departures of international stars Lionel Messi and Neymar. And it is Canal+ which benefits, since the programs surrounding the meeting, the Canal Champions Club and Défrief, also achieved good audiences on Tuesday evening.
