Ignored in 2022, Lionel Messi is back in 2023 among the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or. Better than that, the Argentinian world champion could once again win the day.

Lionel Messi’s revenge may have sounded. Snubbed, rightly, by the Ballon d’Or in 2022 (a first since 2005), the Argentine midfielder is making his return among the 30 finalists for the famous distinction in world football.

And “La Pulga” may not make up the numbers, he is the record holder of the event, so to speak. The title of world champion conquered in Qatar last December against the French team in the final, almost assures him, according to the forecasts of the experts, a place on the podium of the BO.

Lionel Messi even keeps a high rating to win again, ahead of young strikers Kylian Mbappé (PSG – France) and Erling Haaland (Manchester City – Norway).

The 36-year-old Inter Miami player could win the Ballon d’Or for the eighth time. The answer will be given on October 30 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
