As every year, during the transfer market, the Premier League multiplies the pharaonic expenses and very often between English clubs. This year again, this has not escaped the rule. According to research firm Deloitte, Premier League clubs have spent 2.75 billion euros this summer. An XXL sum which is obviously a new record. By comparison, last year Premier League clubs spent 2.24 billion euros.
The study also specifies that on Friday alone, the final day of the transfer window, PL clubs spent 297 million euros. Symbol of the abysmal gap that exists with other championships, Premier League clubs are responsible for 48% of the expenditure of the 5 major European championships (England, Spain, France, Italy, Germany) this summer. Finally, as in January with Enzo Fernandez (€121m), Chelsea still have the highest transfer record of this transfer window with Moises Caicedo (€133m).
