Real Madrid did not reassure on Wednesday in Rome. Because if the Madrilenians finally won 4-3, thus signing a second victory in two matches, José Mourinho’s men were most often struggling.
After equalizing for the first time thanks to Kylian Mbappé in the first period, the Merengue were trailing 3-1 at the start of the last ten minutes before reversing everything in just seven minutes thanks to three goals scored from corners. However, José Mourinho was pleased with the reaction of his men.
“The opponent was difficult, they play different football to what we are used to. It’s also complicated for them to play with this rhythm and this intensity for 90 minutes. They deserved to lead even if two goals didn’t please me. Then we changed things with courage, he confided. It’s a very important victory, it’s 6 points against very complicated opponents. We put ourselves in a good position. »
The Portuguese technician nonetheless made a big rant regarding the decision of the La Liga disciplinary committee regarding Vinicius, suspended four matches after pulling the hair of Villarreal player Nathan Saliba. More than the severity of the sanction, it is the timing of its announcement that does not go through.
“We do things without shame”
“If the commission has imposed the sanction against Vinicius now, it is because it believes that it can have an impact. The question is for the commission: why did you impose this sanction at this precise moment? And if you’re asking this question… it’s because you think it can have an impact. Otherwise, you wouldn’t ask me this question. Why not do it tomorrow morning, but rather two hours before an important match for Real Madrid? A Spanish club »he confided for the first time to the microphone of Movistar+.
“It’s not normal for Vinicius to learn of his suspension two hours before this match. Do you think it is normal for a player from a Spanish team, who has to play an important match on the European scene, to learn that he is receiving a 4-match suspension two hours before kick-off? he continued at a press conference. We want to kill a player two hours before a match. This doesn’t seem normal to me. They couldn’t announce it tomorrow morning? In Portuguese there is an expression: the cat is hidden with its tail sticking out. It seems to me that now the cat is no longer hidden, it walks freely. Now we do things without shame. »
