Fifteen days after his official appointment as head of the France team, Zinédine Zidane has already started preparing for his first meeting with the Blues. The new coach was in Bollaert on Sunday to attend the Champions Trophy won by Lens against PSG (1-0), the opportunity to observe several internationals and potential candidates for selection, including Ousmane Dembélé, Warren Zaire-Emery, Désiré Doué, Lucas Digne, Robin Risser and Florian Thauvin. Accompanied by David Bettoni, his principal assistant, Zidane thus marked his entry into this new French season.
The French technician had also visited Clairefontaine the previous weekend, in order to regain his bearings and prepare for the next deadlines according to the newspaper The Team. Zidane notably spoke with the different sectors of his future staff and laid the foundations for the September gathering. His first internship will begin on September 21, with four Nations League matches on the program, in Türkiye, in Belgium then against Italy and Belgium at the Stade de France. The new coach will thus have nearly three weeks with his group to gradually establish his principles and launch his mandate.
