Santos’ qualification for the quarter-finals of the Brazilian Cup was overshadowed by a tense scene involving Neymar. Tuesday evening, at the Para Olympic stadium, the famous Mangueirao de Belém, the Brazilian star was at the heart of a heated altercation after his team’s victory against Club do Remo (0-1).
Thanks to a goal from Rony, scored after the draw obtained in the first leg (0-0), Santos won their ticket to the next round. But far from quietly celebrating this qualification, Neymar quickly let his frustration explode. On the way to the locker room, the former PSG player found himself facing several members of the opposing club, with tense exchanges and insults from both sides.
Very angry, the Brazilian then responded to the provocations aimed at his opponents. Neymar kissed the Santos crest, showed off his muscles before improvising a few dance steps in front of his dressing room door, in a sequence that quickly went viral.

The situation then took an even more electric turn. Behind the security barriers, members of the Club do Remo delegation responded with insults and inappropriate gestures towards the Santos star. In this general confusion, a barrier even ended up falling, while security agents struggled to contain the exchange between the two camps.
Quickly surrounded by members of his team, Neymar continued to provoke his opponents by throwing “eliminated, eliminated”. An attitude which greatly displeased the president of Remo.
“This good-for-nothing Neymar, who is idolized by a crowd of children, came to do his antics by provoking us”regretted President Antonio Carlos after the incident.
