This is THE transfer everyone is talking about at the moment in the Premier League. Currently at the World Cup with England, Elliot Anderson will join Manchester City. The operation will bring in €150 million for Nottingham Forest. This is quite simply a record for the English championship since the €145 million spent by Liverpool on Alexander Isak last year was exceeded. It is even the 3rd biggest transfer in history after Neymar (€220 million) and Mbappé (€180 million) to PSG. If Booba wonders in Kalash what he’s going tomake all this sorrel», the Reds already have their little ideas.

Already, we will have to start by compensating for the departure of the international player from 11 selections. Before his transfer, management aimed to bring in an element in the midfield but now two are needed. The main target is to go to Tottenham where the profile of Lucas Bergvall is very attractive. The Swede represents the advantage of being young (20 years old) but already experienced (more than 20 European Cup matches, 13 caps for the A) and does not have starting status with Spurs. He was recruited from Djurgården for around €20 million two years ago and is still under contract until 2031.

Replacing Anderson as a priority

Another positive point, the London club is looking to strengthen itself in this position (Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes). The game of musical chairs could favor his departure. The other priority in the middle is on the Inter side. Davide Frattesi (26 years old) has been announced as leaving for several months now. He is also not an integral part of the starting eleven of his team, who would welcome his sale to fuel his transfer window. The Italian champion valued his player at around €30 million, according to Sky Sports. But that was before the Anderson sale. The Lombard management could be tempted to take advantage of this to increase the bill.

A final name is cited in the event of failure of one of these first two avenues. This is Arne Engels from Celtic. The Belgian is young (22 years old) and would probably cost a little less. He still has two years on his contract and was already the subject of an approach last winter. The midfield will not be the only sector to strengthen. Nottingham Forest will take advantage of its very good sale to recruit a goalkeeper and a central defender in order to prepare for the probable departures of John Victor and Morato. The first has almost not played this season due to an injury and the second, a regular substitute, could take advantage of his good rating to leave.

Forest has the means to resist offers

There shouldn’t be any additional big upsets either. The essentials have been ensured upstream with the more or less recent extension of numerous executives in the workforce, like Morgan Gibbs-White, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Murillo. Nikola Milenkovic will undoubtedly be upgraded in the coming weeks. Offers for these four players should be refused. However, the door is not closed for Taiwo Awoniyi and James McAtee. Both players have courtiers, especially in the Premier League. We will then have to replace the striker and the attacking midfielder but we are not there yet.
