For the last two meetings of the day counting for the 2nd day of Serie A, AC Milan received Torino while Roma moved on the lawn of Hellas Verona. In the first match of this evening, the Milanese quickly took control of the game and opened the scoring through Christian Pulisic (33rd, 1-0). In the process, Perr Schuurs equalized (36th, 1-1) but it was without counting on Olivier Giroud who converted a penalty just before the break to give a small advantage to his team (43rd, 2-1).

At the end of the additional time of this first period, Théo Hernandez even scored the goal of the break (45th + 2, 3-1). Upon returning from the locker room, Olivier Giroud did it again, still on a penalty, to complete the victory for the locals (65th, 4-1). A second victory in as many games for AC Milan players. In the other match, AS Roma lost despite a goal from Houssem Aouar at the start of the second period after goals from Ondrej Duda and Cyril Ngonge (2-1). A difficult start to the championship for the Romans who have only one point after two days.
