Despite the vagueness surrounding his future at Losc, Bruno Genesio would be interested in the Marseille challenge, OM having made it one of the priorities of his summer.

Bruno Genesio did not shy away from his satisfaction on Sunday at the end of the 34e and last day of Ligue 1. Lille nevertheless came close to disaster. The fault of his guilty defeat conceded at home against Auxerre (0-2). A setback remained inconsequential thanks to the defeats conceded by OL against Lens (0-4) and Stade Rennais on the OM pitch (3-1).

“What was important for my staff and me was to do well, we were behind two good seasons from Paulo. We had to take the team to the Champions League through the play-offs, which wasn’t easy when we arrived. Last year, we failed by one point in the Champions League, but by having a European epic which was fantastic (round of 16) and this year, we are doing even better by qualifying directly. I think we have fulfilled, or even more than fulfilled, the objectives that were set for us,” he confided in the wake of the defeat recorded against Auxerre.

But if Losc will therefore be present from the league phase of the Champions League, it may have to do without Bruno Genesio. At the end of his contract next June, the former midfielder is indeed heading towards the exit. According to L’Equipe, if he did not take advantage of the players’ barbecue this Monday to say goodbye to his troops “the strong trend remains at a start”.

Bruno Genesio spoke with Olivier Létang in the morning but no decision has yet been made. The Lyonnais would wait for “guarantees” before deciding. The technician is undoubtedly also waiting to meet with the new Marseille management, led by Stéphane Richard.

Initial contacts have already taken place in recent weeks and OM have informed him that he is their priority for next season. Still according to L’Equipe, “Marseille’s interest would not leave him indifferent. » And all the more so since the former Rennais would be thirsty for a new challenge despite the fatigue generated by these last months at Losc.
