After having experienced the last two World Cups in the staff of the Belgium team, Thierry Henry could not miss the 2026 World Cup in North America.

Coach of the French Espoirs team and then the Olympic team for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Thierry Henry, who left his post in the wake of the silver medal won by the Bleuets, will experience the 2026 World Cup on site. The 98 world champion put his coaching career on hold to take care of his family based in England. He should therefore not return to service this summer since the World Cup takes place during the club pre-season.

Henry will be very busy over the next two months with the World Cup in North America, having finished his career at New York Red Bull (2010-2014) and was coach of the Montreal Impact (2019-2021). After experiencing the biggest football competition in the staff of Roberto Martinez in the Belgium team, during the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, he is this time part of the team of consultants of the TV channel which broadcasts the competition in the United States, Fox Soccer.

The French Arsenal legend (top scorer in the club’s history) reunites with other former players who have played in the Premier League, namely Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mexican idol Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, two attackers who played for Manchester United, and Peter Schmeichel, emblematic goalkeeper of the Red Devils.

Since his retirement from sports 12 years ago, in addition to beginning his coaching career, Thierry Henry has been a high-quality TV consultant, first for the British media Sky Sports, then Prime Video France for Ligue 1 and CBS, American TV channel, for the Champions League, where he delights the networks with on-set sequences alongside Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards. He could not miss the 2026 World Cup and therefore joined the Fox Sports system.
